Walking Shoes

Ephesians 4:1-3 says:
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Colossians 1:10-12 says:
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father who as qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of Light.

Galatians 5:25-26 says:
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Many years ago I went to a ladies’ retreat where the theme was to “walk worthy.” They gave us a little shoe charm to remind us that we needed to live walking worthy of the Lord. Obviously, I haven’t forgotten (shocking, I know) that message!

The Scriptures above led me to three points about walking worthy:

1. God called me to receive Life.
2. God qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints.
3. God keeps me by His Spirit.

God is the One who calls, qualifies, and keeps; I wear the shoes…
